AuthorKit Cloud · bring your own AI

Write books with the Claude, ChatGPT or Grok you already pay for.

Sign in with your plan once. It becomes the brain behind the coauthor, while AuthorKit keeps the chapters, the story bible, Accept and the file.

Talk to Book Author the way you talk to your AI. It writes into the manuscript, not a chat log.

Draft chapter four. Keep Mira quiet, and check the bible for the ring.

Chapters land as suggestions. Keep what works; the bible, outline and export are right there.

The bill

A second AI subscription vs. AuthorKit Cloud

Most writing tools sell their own AI credits on top of the plan you already have. If you pay for Claude, ChatGPT or Grok, a second AI bill makes no sense.

What you get

What the desk adds to your AI

Everything a chat window can't hold, from the moment you connect.

A manuscript, not a paste war
Your AI's words go into chapters on the real editor, with the binder, bible and Accept, instead of a chat log you copy into Docs.
The craft tools come included
Story bible, map, seven edit passes, format and publish checks. Not a plugin you buy after the draft.
Bring it from outside, too
Mint an MCP connector key for Book Author in Vault and call the desk from Cursor, ChatGPT or any MCP client.
Your book stays yours
The manuscript lives on your desk. Export EPUB, HTML or Markdown any time. Your pages are not used to train models.

FAQ

Bring your own AI, answered.

Connect once. Your plan writes; the desk keeps the book.

01What is AuthorKit Cloud?

Book Author running on the AI plan you already have. Sign in with ChatGPT, Claude or Grok and the coauthor uses that plan; drafts land as propose-only suggestions on the AuthorKit desk.

02Do I need an API key?

No. You sign in with your plan in Settings → Models. API keys are there for power users who want them.

03Will my AI overwrite the book?

No. Every change is a suggestion on the exact words it touches. You Accept, Reject, or keep talking.

04What if I don't pay for an AI plan?

Use our hosted models. They run from the wallet, on the same desk.

05Can I use it from Cursor or another MCP client?

Yes. Mint an MCP connector key for Book Author in Vault and point your client at it.

06Where is my manuscript stored?

On your AuthorKit desk. Export EPUB, HTML or Markdown whenever you want. Your pages are not used to train models.
